Keith graduated from De Montfort University, Leicester in 1994 with an Honours Degree in Building Surveying and was elected a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1997. He joined TGA Building Consultancy in 1996 having gained a wide variety of experience working alongside partners at Edwin Hill, Povall Worthington and Edward Symmons & Partners.
Keith is now Operations Director at TGA. He heads up the team, manages key client accounts and is responsible for overall project delivery and service quality. Keith’s experience and day-to-day involvement covers a broad range of professional services, including project management, contract administration, employer’s agent, development monitoring and acquisition/condition surveys. Keith’s client focused approach, breadth of professional experience and attention to detail enables him to build strong client relationships and quickly understand and respond to their needs.
Director of Design & Construction Safety Risk Management
Phil has over 30 years’ experience working in the construction safety industry having previously worked in roles at John Laing Construction, Mapeley Estates Limited, Gleeds Health and Safety Limited and the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games 2012. Phil has developed in depth and specialist knowledge in his field delivering projects in excess of £900m.
Phil has extensive commercial experience and his advice to clients has included both public and private sector residential developments, hotels and commercial offices, hospitals, colleges, schools, universities, museums, football stadia, arenas, airports, defence, science, industrial and retail property throughout the UK and to overseas contractors and suppliers.
Phil has performed a number of roles including Clerk of Works, Regional Quality Manager, Health and Safety Advisor Planning Supervisor, CDM Co-ordinator, CDM Manager, Overlay Health and Safety Manager and Principal Designer, at Principal Consultant and Director level.
Tom graduated from Leeds Beckett University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree and is currently working towards RICS chartered status. Tom has been with TGA since 2013 and his experience and day-to-day involvement covers a wide range of professional services, including project management, contract administration, employer’s agent, planning and programming.
Tom has recently completed and was heavily involved in the award winning 3-year refurbishment of Battersea Arts Centre following a devastating fire and is very proud of the results achieved by the project team. Tom has also delivered projects for The Old Vic theatre in Waterloo and The Royal College of Physicians in Regent’s Park. He is currently working on an exciting new project for a renowned theatre producer due to open in early 2020.
Founder and Chairman
Richard’s father, Thomas G Armstrong, established a building services engineering consultancy in 1962. Richard joined the family business as a Chartered Engineer and was the driving force behind establishing a London base, expanding the business from its origins in Durham.
In 1994, Richard saw the opportunity to provide a wider range of professional services and founded TGA Building Consultancy. Richard has remained actively involved in the running of the business in his capacity as Finance Director and Chairman, maintaining the health of the business and high standards of client service.
